Crosstab model in South Dakota: Trump is in the lead
The Crosstab model is captured in the econometric models component of the combined PollyVote forecast. It currently predicts a major vote share of 37.9% for Clinton, and 62.1% for Trump in South Dakota.
Putting the results in context
As any other method, models are subject to bias. As a result, one should not have too much faith in the results of an individual econometric model. At the very least, one should check how a model's results compare to benchmark forecasts.
Comparison to the combined PollyVote
The current PollyVote expects Trump to gain 60.0% of the two-party vote in South Dakota. PollyVote currently predicts Trump to gain 2.1 percentage points less compared to the results of the Crosstab model.
