The DeSart & Holbrook model released an updated forecast of the election result. The model currently forecasts a major vote share of 64.9% for Clinton, and 35.1% for Trump in Maryland. In comparison, on October 29 Trump was still predicted to obtain 36.0% of the vote.
Putting the results in context
Individual models should be treated with caution, because they often include large biases. Instead of relying on results from single models, the recommended strategy consult combined models or, even better, a combined forecast that relies on different methods and data.
Results compared to the combined PollyVote forecast
The most recent PollyVote expects Clinton to gain 66.2% of the two-party vote in Maryland. The results of the DeSart & Holbrook model for Clinton are thus 1.3 percentage points below the combined PollyVote in Maryland.
