Crosstab model in Alabama: Trump is in the lead
The Crosstab model released an updated forecast of the election outcome. The model currently predicts a major vote share of 39.8% for Clinton, and 60.2% for Trump in Alabama. In comparison, on October 31 Trump was still predicted to collect 60.4% of the vote.
Putting the results in context
Individual models should be regarded with caution, because they may include large biases. Rather than trusting the results from single models, forecasting research recommends to look at combined models or, even better, the combined PollyVote forecast that incorporates different methods and data.
The Crosstab model compared with PollyVote's forecast
The current PollyVote anticipates Trump to gain 59.4% of the two-party vote in Alabama. PollyVote currently predicts Trump to gain 0.8 percentage points less compared to the results of the Crosstab model.
