KSN News/SurveyUSA published the results of a new poll. In this poll, respondents from Kansas were asked for whom they will vote: Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton or Republican candidate Donald Trump.
KSN News/SurveyUSA poll results
Of those who answered the question, 39.0% said that they plan to vote for former New York Senator Hillary Clinton, whereas 44.0% said that they would give their vote to real estate developer Donald Trump.
The poll was conducted from August 3 to August 7 among 566 likely voters.
Putting the results in context
Individual polls can incorporate substantial errors, and should be treated with caution. Instead of relying on results from single polls, we recommend to use combined polls or, even better, a combined forecast that relies on forecasts from different methods, each of which relies on different data.
For the following analysis, we convert Trump's and Clinton's raw poll numbers into two-party vote shares. The respective figures are 47.0% for Clinton and 53.0% for Trump.
Comparison to the combined PollyVote
The latest PollyVote anticipates Trump to gain 56.9% of the two-party vote in Kansas. That is, Polly's forecast is 3.9 points above his polling numbers.
