The Crosstab model released an updated forecast of the election result. The model currently forecasts a major vote share of 51.0% for Clinton, and 49.0% for Trump in North Carolina. In comparison, on October 26 Trump was still predicted to obtain 49.2% of the vote.
Putting the results in context
Individual models should be treated with caution, as they may incorporate large errors. Instead of relying on results from single models, the best practice is to use combined models or, even better, a combined forecast that relies on different methods and data.
Results compared to the combined PollyVote forecast
The current PollyVote expects Clinton to gain 50.6% of the two-party vote in North Carolina. The results of the Crosstab model for Clinton are thus 0.4 percentage points above the combined PollyVote in North Carolina.
