The DeSart & Holbrook model published an updated forecast of the election result. According to the model, Clinton will obtain 56.5% of the two-party vote share in Oregon, while Trump will win 43.5%. In comparison, on October 22, Clinton was predicted to gain only 56.1% of the vote.
Putting the results in context
Single models should be treated with caution, since they often contain large errors. Instead of relying on results from single models, the recommended strategy look at combined models or, even better, a combined forecast that includes forecasts from different methods, each of which draws upon different data.
Comparison to the combined PollyVote
The latest PollyVote anticipates Clinton to gain 56.7% of the two-party vote in Oregon. PollyVote currently predicts Clinton to gain 0.2 percentage points more compared to the results of the DeSart & Holbrook model.
