The DeSart & Holbrook model published an updated prediction of the election result. According to the model, Clinton will obtain 47.3% of the two-party vote share in Missouri, whereas Trump will win 52.7%. In comparison, on October 22 Trump was still predicted to gain 53.1% of the vote.
Putting the results in context
In general, however, a good strategy is to not have too much faith in the results of single models, since they can incorporate large errors. Instead of trusting the results from single models, we recommend to rely on combined models or, even better, a combined forecast that includes different methods and data.
Comparison to the combined PollyVote
The most recent PollyVote foresees Trump to gain 53.8% of the two-party vote in Missouri. PollyVote currently predicts Trump to gain 1.1 percentage points more compared to the results of the DeSart & Holbrook model.
