The DeSart & Holbrook model enters the econometric models component of the combined PollyVote forecast. According to the model, Clinton will obtain 43.3% of the two-party vote share in Alaska, whereas Trump will end up with 56.7%. In comparison, on October 22 Trump was still predicted to achieve 57.3% of the vote.
Putting the results in context
Single models should be treated with caution, as they can incorporate large errors. Rather than trusting the results from single models, the recommended strategy look at combined models or, even better, the combined PollyVote forecast that uses different methods and data.
The DeSart & Holbrook model compared with PollyVote's forecast
The most recent PollyVote predicts Trump to gain 57.4% of the two-party vote in Alaska. PollyVote currently predicts Trump to gain 0.7 percentage points more compared to the results of the DeSart & Holbrook model.
