The DeSart & Holbrook model released an updated forecast of the election outcome. The model currently predicts a two-party vote share of 53.7% for Clinton, and 46.4% for Trump in Minnesota. In comparison, on October 20 Trump was predicted to garner 46.1% of the vote.
Putting the results in context
Individual models can incorporate substantial errors, and should be treated with caution. Instead of trusting the results from single models, the recommended strategy consult combined models or, even better, a combined forecast that draws upon forecasts from different methods, each of which draws upon different data.
Results compared to the combined PollyVote prediction
The most recent PollyVote forecasts Clinton to gain 55.4% of the two-party vote in Minnesota. PollyVote currently predicts Clinton to gain 1.7 percentage points more compared to the results of the DeSart & Holbrook model.
