South Dakota: DeSart & Holbrook model shows Trump in the lead
The DeSart & Holbrook model provided an updated forecast of the election result. It currently forecasts a two-party vote share of 42.6% for Clinton, and 57.4% for Trump in South Dakota.
Putting the results in context
As any other method, models are subject to bias. Hence, a good strategy is to not focus too much on the results of a single econometric model. Instead of relying on results from single models, the best practice scientific advice is to look at combined models or, even better, a combined forecast that includes different methods and data.
