Maryland: DeSart & Holbrook model shows Clinton in the lead
The DeSart & Holbrook model is included in the econometric models component of the combined PollyVote. The model currently predicts a major vote share of 62.4% for Clinton, and 37.6% for Trump in Maryland.
Putting the results in context
As a general rule, however, one should not have too much faith in the results of single models, because they often incorporate large errors. At least, one should examine how a model's results compare to benchmark forecasts.
The DeSart & Holbrook model in comparison with PollyVote's prediction
The current PollyVote expects Clinton to gain 64.9% of the two-party vote in Maryland. PollyVote currently predicts Clinton to gain 2.5 percentage points more compared to the results of the DeSart & Holbrook model.
