The DeSart & Holbrook model provided an updated forecast of the election result. The model currently predicts a major vote share of 43.1% for Clinton, and 56.9% for Trump in Alaska.
Putting the results in context
As a general rule, however, one should not have too much faith in the results of single models, since they may incorporate large errors. Instead of trusting the results from single models, the evidence-based approach is to look at combined models or, even better, a combined forecast that uses different methods and data.
Results compared to the combined PollyVote forecast
The latest PollyVote foresees Trump to gain 56.8% of the two-party vote in Alaska. PollyVote currently predicts Trump to gain 0.1 percentage points less compared to the results of the DeSart & Holbrook model.
