The DeSart model is included in the econometric models component of the PollyVote. It currently predicts a major vote share of 25.5% for Clinton, and 74.5% for Trump in Wyoming.
Putting the results in context
As any other method, models are subject to bias. Therefore, as a general rule, a good strategy is to not be overly confident the results of a single econometric model. Instead of relying on results from single models, one should rely on combined models or, even better, a combined forecast that includes forecasts from different methods, each of which draws upon different data.
Results compared to the combined PollyVote prediction
The latest PollyVote predicts Trump to gain 65.4% of the two-party vote in Wyoming. The results of the DeSart model for Trump are thus 9.1 percentage points above the combined PollyVote in Wyoming.
