PPP (D) released the results of a new poll, in which respondents from Illinois were asked for whom they will vote: Republican nominee Donald Trump or Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton.
PPP (D) poll results
According to the results, 51.0% of participants intend to give their vote to former First Lady Hillary Clinton, whereas 33.0% intend to give their vote to real estate developer Donald Trump.
The poll was carried out from July 20 to July 21 with 931 registered voters.
Putting the results in context
Individual polls may incorporate substantial biases, and should be treated with caution. At least, one should check how a poll's results compare to benchmark forecasts.
For the following analysis, we convert Clinton's and Trump's raw poll numbers into two-party vote shares. The resulting figures are 60.7% for Clinton and 39.3% for Trump.
The poll compared with PollyVote's prediction
The current PollyVote foresees Clinton to gain 58.2% of the two-party vote in Illinois. This means that the PollyVote is 2.5 points below her polling numbers.
