Of those who replied, 36.0% said that they will vote for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, whereas 47.0% declared that they would give their vote to real estate developer Donald Trump.
The poll was carried out between July 8 and July 11. The sample size was 559 likely voters.
Putting the results in context
As a general rule, however, one should not have too much faith in the results of single polls, since they sometimes contain large errors. Rather than relying on results from single polls, the best practice scientific advice is to look at combined polls or, even better, the combined PollyVote forecast that uses different methods and data.
For the following analysis, we translate Trump's and Clinton's raw poll numbers into shares of the two-party vote. This yields figures of 43.4% for Clinton and 56.6% for Trump.
Comparison to the combined PollyVote
The current PollyVote predicts Trump to gain 56.7% of the two-party vote in Kansas. This means that Polly's prediction is 0.1 points above his polling numbers.
