Putting the results in context
Results of a new poll carried out by RCP were published. The poll asked participants from Ohio for whom they will vote: Democrat Hillary Clinton or Republican Donald Trump.
Historically, Ohio has been a battleground state, in which neither the Democrats nor the Republicans have had overwhelming support to secure its electoral college votes. This is the reason why predictions in this state are of particular value.

Putting the results in context
As any other method, polls are subject to bias. Therefore, as a general rule, don't have too much faith in the results of an individual poll. Rather than relying on results from single polls, research in forecasting recommends to use combined polls or, even better, the combined PollyVote forecast that relies on different methods and data.
For the following analysis, we convert Trump's and Clinton's raw poll numbers into two-party vote shares. This procedure yields values of 48.5% for Clinton and 0.0% for Trump.
