Putting the results in context
As any other method, polls are subject to bias. Thus, as a general rule, one should not be overly confident the results of a single poll. Instead of relying on results from single polls, the best practice is to look at combined polls or, even better, a combined forecast that uses forecasts from different methods, each of which uses different data.
For the following comparison, we convert Trump's and Clinton's raw poll numbers into two-party vote shares. This yields figures of 45.0% for Clinton and 0.0% for Trump. To compare: 45.1% was obtained by Clinton in the Votamatic poll on August 16, for Trump this number was 0.0%.
Comparison to other polls
When compared to the average results of other polls Clinton performed better with 0.0 percentage points, while Trump did worse with 0.0 percentage points.
The poll in comparison with PollyVote's forecast
