Results of a new poll carried out by PPP (D)PPP (D) were circulated on March 27. The poll asked respondents from Iowa for whom they would likely vote if the Democratic Party nominated Hillary Clinton and the Republican Party nominated Donald Trump.
Of those who responded, 45.0% said that they intend to vote for the Democrats, while 43.0% declared that they would give their vote to the Republicans. This poll was conducted from December 10 to December 13, among a random sample of 1426 registered voters. Results have a +/-2.6 percentage points error margin.
In comparison with other surveys
Converting these results into two-party vote shares yields figures of 51.1% for the Democrat Hillary Clinton and 48.9% for the Republican Donald Trump. The vote share for the Democrats is 1.7 percentage points over the average results of other polls in Iowa.
