Latest NBC/WSJ/MaristNBC/WSJ/Marist poll in Illinois: Republicans trail by a very clear margin
Results of a new poll carried out by NBC/WSJ/MaristNBC/WSJ/Marist were released on March 23. The poll asked respondents from Illinois for whom they would likely vote if the Democrats nominated Hillary Clinton and the Republican Party nominated Donald Trump.
According to the results, 57.0% of respondents are going to vote for Clinton, while 32.0% are going to vote for the Republican Trump. The poll was in the field between March 4 and March 10. The sample size was 1968 registered voters.
In comparison with other surveys
Converting these results into two-party vote shares yields values of 64.0% for the Democrats and 36.0% for the Republicans. The Democrats did worse by 9.5 percentage points in comparison to the average results of the other polls in Illinois.
