Illinois: Democrats hold very clear lead in latest NBC/WSJ/MaristNBC/WSJ/Marist poll
On March 24, NBC/WSJ/MaristNBC/WSJ/Marist released the results of a new poll, in which respondents from Illinois were asked for whom they would vote if the parties' nominees were Hillary Clinton for the Democrats and Donald Trump for the Republicans.
Of those who answered the question, 57.0% revealed that they would vote for the Democrats, whereas 32.0% revealed that they would give their vote to the Republicans. The poll was in the field between March 4 and March 10. The sample size was 1968 registered voters.
In comparison with other surveys
Converting these results into two-party vote shares yields figures of 64.0% for Hillary Clinton and 36.0% for the Republican Donald Trump. The Democrats did worse by 9.5 percentage points in comparison to the average results of the other polls in Illinois.
