Virginia: New Roanoke College poll shows Democrats ahead
Results of a new poll carried out by Roanoke College were published on April 17. Participants from Virginia were asked, who they would give their vote to, if the election were today. According to the results, 52.0% of interviewees intend to vote for the Democratic Party, while 35.0% intend to vote for the Republican Party. The poll was conducted from January 18 to January 26 among 524 likely voters. The margin of error is +/-4.3 points.
Converting these results into two-party vote shares yields figures of 59.8% for Hillary Clinton and 40.2% for the republican Donald Trump. The vote share for the democrats is 1.9 percentage points under the average results of other polls in Virginia.
