Virginia: Advantage for Democrats in new Christopher Newport University poll
The results of a new poll, conducted on behalf of Christopher Newport University in Virginia, were published on April 15. In the survey participants were asked, whether they would vote for democrat Hillary Clinton or republican Donald Trump, assuming that these two candidates would win the primaries. According to the results, 44.0% of participants intend to vote for the Democratic Party, while 35.0% intend to vote for the Republican Party. This poll was conducted from March 23 to April 3, among a random sample of 1167 registered voters. The margin of error is +/-3.1 percentage points.
Converting these results into two-party vote shares yields figures of 55.7% for the democrat Hillary Clinton and 44.3% for the republican Donald Trump.
