The results of a new poll, conducted by PPP (D) in Iowa, were released on March 31. In the survey participants were asked, whether they would vote for democrat Hillary Clinton or republican Donald Trump, assuming that these two candidates would win the primaries. Of those who responded, 45.0% revealed that they would vote for the democrat Clinton, while 43.0% said that they would give their vote to Trump. The poll was conducted from December 10 to December 13 with 1426 registered voters. Figures have a +/-2.6 percentage points sampling error.
Converting these results into two-party vote shares yields figures of 51.1% for the democrat Clinton and 48.9% for the republican Trump. The democrats did better by 1.7 percentage points in comparison to the average results of the other polls in Iowa.
