NBC-WSJ-Marist poll in Iowa: Democrats are ahead
The results of a new poll, conducted by NBC-WSJ-Marist in Iowa, were published on March 30. In the survey participants were asked, whether they would vote for democrat Hillary Clinton or republican Donald Trump, assuming that these two candidates would win the primaries. Of those who answered the question, 48.0% revealed that they plan to vote for the Democrats, whereas 40.0% revealed that they would give their vote to the Republicans. This poll was conducted from January 2 to January 7, among a random sample of 1470 registered voters. The margin of error is +/-2.6 points.
Translating these results into two-party vote shares yields figures of 54.6% for the democrat Hillary Clinton and 45.5% for Donald Trump.
