The results of a new poll, conducted on behalf of WXYZ-TV/Detroit Free Press in Michigan, were released on April 2. In the survey participants were asked, whether they would vote for democrat Hillary Clinton or republican Donald Trump, assuming that these two candidates would win the primaries. Of those who answered the question, 46.0% revealed that they will vote for the democrat Clinton, while 38.0% declared that they would give their vote to Trump. This poll was conducted from October 25 to October 31, among a random sample of 600 likely voters. Estimated have a +/-4.0 percentage points error margin.
Converting these results into two-party vote shares yields figures of 54.8% for the democrat Clinton and 45.2% for Trump.
