The results of a new poll, conducted by WWL-TV/Clarus in Louisiana, were released on April 16. In the survey participants were asked, whether they would vote for democrat Hillary Clinton or republican Donald Trump, assuming that these two candidates would win the primaries. The results show that 39.0% of respondents intend to vote for the Democrats, whereas 47.0% said they would vote for the Republicans. The poll was carried out between September 20 and September 23. The sample size was 800 registered voters.
Translating these results into two-party vote shares yields values of 45.4% for the democrat Hillary Clinton and 54.7% for Donald Trump.
