The results of a new poll, conducted on behalf of WWL-TV/Clarus in Louisiana, were released on March 24. In the survey participants were asked, whether they would vote for democrat Hillary Clinton or republican Donald Trump, assuming that these two candidates would win the primaries. Of those who responded, 39.0% said that they will vote for the Democrats, while 47.0% declared that they would give their vote to the Republicans. The poll was carried out from September 20 to September 23 with 800 registered voters.
Translating these results into two-party vote shares yields values of 45.4% for Hillary Clinton and 54.7% for Donald Trump. The vote share for the republicans is 9.2 percentage points under the average results of other polls in Louisiana.
