The results of a new poll, conducted by Mercyhurst University in Pennsylvania, were released on April 7. In the survey participants were asked, whether they would vote for democrat Hillary Clinton or republican Donald Trump, assuming that these two candidates would win the primaries. The results show that 43.0% of participants intend to vote for Democratic party, whereas 35.0% said they would vote for GOP. The poll was carried out from March 1 to March 11 with 421 registered voters. The sampling error is +/-4.8 points.
Converting these results into two-party vote shares yields figures of 55.1% for the democrat Clinton and 44.9% for Trump. In comparison to the average results of other polls in Pennsylvania The democrats did worse in this poll.
