The results of a new poll, conducted on behalf of Mercyhurst University in Pennsylvania, were published on April 15. In the survey participants were asked, whether they would vote for democrat Hillary Clinton or republican Donald Trump, assuming that these two candidates would win the primaries. Of those who responded, 43.0% revealed that they are going to vote for the Democrats, while 35.0% revealed that they would give their vote to the Republicans. This poll was conducted from March 1 to March 11, among a random sample of 421 registered voters. The error margin is +/-4.8 percentage points.
Converting these results into two-party vote shares yields figures of 55.1% for the democrat Hillary Clinton and 44.9% for the republican Donald Trump. In comparison to the average results of other polls in Pennsylvania The democrats did worse in this poll.
