Latest CNN-ORC poll in Ohio: Republicans trail by a clear margin
The results of a new poll, conducted by CNN-ORC in Ohio, were released on March 30. In the survey participants were asked, whether they would vote for democrat Hillary Clinton or republican Donald Trump, assuming that these two candidates would win the primaries. The results reveal that 50.0% of participants would vote for the democrat Clinton, whereas 43.0% said they would vote for the republican Trump. This poll was conducted from March 2 to March 6, among a random sample of 884 registered voters. The margin of error is +/-3.5 points.
Translating these results into two-party vote shares yields figures of 53.8% for the democrat Hillary Clinton and 46.2% for Donald Trump. The democrats did worse by 1.5 percentage points in comparison to the average results of the other polls in Ohio.
