Latest NBC-WSJ-Marist poll in Iowa: Republicans trail by a clear margin
The results of a new poll, sponsored NBC-WSJ-Marist in Iowa, were published on April 22. In the survey participants were asked, whether they would vote for democrat Hillary Clinton or republican Donald Trump, assuming that these two candidates would win the primaries. The results show that 48.0% of participants plan to vote for Democratic party, while 40.0% said they would vote for GOP. The poll was conducted from January 2 to January 7 with 1470 registered voters. Figures have a +/-2.6 percentage points error margin.
Translating these results into two-party vote shares yields values of 54.6% for Clinton and 45.5% for the republican Trump.
