Iowa: Clear lead for Democrats in new NBC-WSJ-Marist poll
The results of a new poll, sponsored NBC-WSJ-Marist in Iowa, were published on April 14. In the survey participants were asked, whether they would vote for democrat Hillary Clinton or republican Donald Trump, assuming that these two candidates would win the primaries. According to the results, 48.0% of participants are going to vote for the Democrats, while 40.0% are going to vote for the Republicans. The poll was carried out from January 2 to January 7 among 1470 registered voters. The sampling error is +/-2.6 percentage points.
Translating these results into two-party vote shares yields figures of 54.6% for the Democrats and 45.5% for the Republicans.
