The results of a new poll, conducted on behalf of Emerson in New York, were released on April 2. In the survey participants were asked, whether they would vote for democrat Hillary Clinton or republican Donald Trump, assuming that these two candidates would win the primaries. According to the results, 55.0% of participants intend to vote for the Democrats, while 36.0% intend to vote for the Republican Party. The poll was carried out from March 14 to March 16 among 768 likely voters. Estimated have a +/-3.5 percentage points margin of error.
Translating these results into two-party vote shares yields figures of 60.4% for the Democrats and 39.6% for the Republicans. The democrats did better by 1.2 percentage points in comparison to the average results of the other polls in New York.
