Elon University poll in North Carolina: Republicans trail by a clear margin
The results of a new poll, conducted by Elon University in North Carolina, were published on March 31. In the survey participants were asked, whether they would vote for democrat Hillary Clinton or republican Donald Trump, assuming that these two candidates would win the primaries. According to the results, 47.0% of respondents would vote for the Democrats, while 41.0% would vote for the Republican Party. The poll was in the field between February 15 and February 17. The sample size was 1530 likely voters. Figures have a +/-2.5 percentage points margin of error.
Translating these results into two-party vote shares yields figures of 53.4% for the Democrats and 46.6% for the Republicans.
