The results of a new poll, sponsored Merrill in Arizona, were published on April 7. In the survey participants were asked, whether they would vote for democrat Hillary Clinton or republican Donald Trump, assuming that these two candidates would win the primaries. The results reveal that 38.0% of respondents would vote for Democratic party, whereas 38.0% said they would vote for Republican party. The poll was carried out between March 7 and March 11. The sample size was 701 likely voters. The margin of error is +/-3.7 percentage points.
Translating these results into two-party vote shares yields values of 50.0% for the democrat Hillary Clinton and 50.0% for the republican Donald Trump.
